Asus unveiled world's fastest wi-fi router, stick pc and gaming laptops at the IFA 2015 consumer electronics show in Berlin.
ASUS's first computer-on-a-stick features 2gb of RAM, 32gb of storage, Intel HD graphics, a headphone/mic jack, and two USB 2.0 ports. Connectivity-wise, it features Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n. It's powered by micro USB.
Inside, it features a newer Intel Cherry Trail processor, which means the next-gen will feature a Skylake processor. It measures about the size of a large flash drive, at 137.9 x 34.0 x 14.9mm (5.43 x 1.34 x 0.59 inch).
To connect, you remove the cap on the end to reveal an HDMI port that you plug into a monitor or HDTV. You can either connect a keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth or the two USB ports. If you don't have access to a keyboard and mouse or just don't enjoy using them, ASUS announced that you will be able to control the VivoStick via a mobile app.
There is no release date set for the VivoStick, so stay tuned for more info regarding that.
ASUS also teased plans for a new gaming laptop. It'll be called the GX700 and measure at 17". It will offer a 4K display, Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics, an overclockable Intel K-series mobile processor, and a water-cooling system. ASUS didn't announce pricing, release dates or any further specs for the notebook.
The company's biggest release was the G752, the update to the G751. This also measures in at 17" and features a Core i7 processor. The gaming laptop runs Windows 10 and will be offered in several configurations for every kind of gamer.
The first-level version wil have a GTX 965M and a 1080p display while the next-level edition will have a GTX 980M and an optional 4K panel. They will support Nvidia's G-Sync, and as for the hard drive, options include M.2 SSDs, and RAM support goes as high as 64gb.
The G752 will be available this holiday season for $1499.
ASUS also introduced a new router, the RT-AC5300U. It uses NitroQAM technology to improve the ability to perform any kind of network-intense tasks, including streaming 4K video and gaming online. So far, there is no pricing or availability information.
