ST040H - Okaya's Solar Battery, Lets have a look at its features

http://technorect.blogspot.com/2015/04/st040h-okayas-solar-battery-lets-have.html

ST040H is solar battery that collects energy from the sun with the help of photo voltaics cells. These cells transform solar energy into Direct Current electricity by semi conducting materials. The other name of these batteries is Deep Cycle Batteries, and are key components for renewable energy system. This battery is designed with strong and thick plates that avoid corrosion hence long-life. ST040H has a robust design and can be used in any weather condition.

ST040H can be discharged between 45% of its capacity. You can connect this battery in series, parallel or combination of both as per system voltage and capacity.

Lets have a look at its features:

Chemicals used
This battery uses lead acid and nickel cadmium. Out of these two, the one having nickel cadmium has no restrictions but are expensive. On the other hand, battery with lead acid is not costly but has some restrictions like it should not be discharged below 20%. Interestingly, this battery has energy storage and can be fully charged in a few hours in sunlight.

Applications
It is mainly used to save fuel and provide eco-friendly environment. Some of its main applications are street lights, solar domestic and solar inverters. This battery is used for Solar Systems where these batteries store the electrical energy which is used when there is no insulation. More so, these types of system require a battery that has minimum maintenance. And at such times, the proper selection of battery for the system is compulsory.

Structure
The main difference between plates used in this battery and other batteries is lead plates. This battery has thicker active plates with higher density paste material and thicker separator. More so, the alloys used for the plates contain more antimony.

Charge and discharge
This battery provides steady current for a long period of time. Also, it can be deeply discharged many times as it uses thicker plates to manage it. The energy to charge a battery will be the total sum of energy used and previous discharge energy output. Additionally, there are three stages of charging including, absorption, float and bulk. In bulk charging, current is passed at the maximum safe rate. In Absorption charging, voltage is stabilized, whereas in float charging voltage is decreased to lower levels to increase the life of the battery.

Additional Features
This battery can be recycled 99.5% by weight and 98% by volume. The thing that cannot be recycled is paper separators because its length is reduced due to acid.

Maintenance
To extend the battery life proper maintenance is needed. The battery should be checked regularly so that its electrolyte level is full.

In the end, this Okaya battery gives an impeccable performance and is best for your Solar Systems.
